Krås – Designtorget
A Tribute to Swedish Tradition and Contemporary Design
Krås is a timeless tableware collection designed by Viktor Erlandsson Studio and produced by Designtorget. The series draws inspiration from one of Sweden’s most iconic household items – the Höganäs pot – reinterpreting its characteristic forms to meet the needs of modern life. The result is a contemporary collection that combines function and aesthetics, with a subtle nod to Swedish design history.
The foundation of Krås lies in the simple cylinder, where a wave-like detail, or “krås,” interrupts the lines and gives each piece its distinctive character. With this basic shape as a starting point, the series has grown to include seven different pieces: a small and a large drinking glass, a carafe, and a large bowl in glass, as well as a mug, a side plate, and a small bowl in stoneware. The ceramic pieces come in two colors – black and white – complementing the glass’s transparent and playful interplay with light.
The Krås series began as a design project with the goal of creating a collection that would stand the test of time, serve daily needs, and be easily supplemented over the years. The first pieces – the small drinking glass and the carafe – were launched in 2019 and have since become beloved staples in Designtorget’s collection. With the new additions, Krås transforms into a complete series for all occasions at the table.
The products are designed to feel equally natural in everyday use as in more festive settings. The stackable glasses and carefully considered ergonomics of each piece make the series both practical and elegant. From the height of the side plate to the placement of the wave detail on the glasses, every element has been meticulously adjusted to harmonise with both the hand and the eye.
Krås is created to endure over time – not only in its design but also as a core part of Designtorget’s collection. With its timeless expression and versatile design, Krås is as much a part of the present as it is a tribute to Swedish tradition.
